FAQ
How much does Whatnot take from sellers?
Whatnot charges 8% commission on the first $1,500 of a TCG sale. Effective January 14, 2026, commission drops to 0% on the portion above $1,500 in select categories including Pokémon. Plus 2.9% + $0.30 payment processing on the full amount.
Is Whatnot cheaper than eBay for high-value Pokémon cards?
For modern chase cards under $1,500: Whatnot ~11.2% vs eBay 13.25%. For cards $1,500-$7,500: Whatnot wins big because the cap kicks in. For cards $7,500+: eBay's 2.35% rate becomes competitive again.
Are there listing or storage fees?
No. Whatnot charges only on sale — no listing fees, storage fees, or show-hosting fees.
Should I sell live or via marketplace?
Live shows convert better on impulse buys (low-mid value singles, ripping sealed) due to the auction format and FOMO. Marketplace listings work better for high-value graded singles where buyers want to research before bidding.
