How much does PSA grading cost in 2026?
After the February 10, 2026 price increase, PSA tiers run from $24.99 (Value Bulk, Collectors Club required, 150+ business day turnaround) up to $599 for Walk-Through (same/next day at Santa Ana HQ). Each tier has a max declared value cap.
What is declared value?
The estimated post-grading value of your card. PSA uses it for shipping insurance and tier eligibility. A card declared at $1,000 cannot use the Value Bulk tier (capped at $499). Under-declaring is allowed but reduces insurance coverage.
How do I calculate breakeven for grading?
Breakeven sale price = (raw card cost + grading fee + shipping in + shipping out) ÷ probability of PSA 10. Modern Pokémon cards from pack-fresh pulls grade PSA 10 roughly 15-30% of the time. PSA 9 grades are far more common but trade at a fraction of PSA 10 value.
Should I send a $40 card to PSA?
Only via Value Bulk ($24.99). With shipping, total cost is ~$35. The card needs to grade PSA 10 worth $100+ to make sense, given PSA 9 success rates and turnaround risk. Most $40 raw modern Pokémon don't justify grading.
