FAQ

What does Mercari take from sellers in 2026?

Flat 10% selling fee on item price plus buyer-paid shipping. No payment processing fee for sellers (removed January 2025). Standard direct deposit is free; Instant Pay costs $3.

Why does Mercari look cheaper than eBay?

On the surface yes — 10% vs eBay's 13.25%. But Mercari has lower buyer demand for higher-value Pokémon cards. eBay still wins on price discovery for graded singles. Mercari is best for raw bulk sales and lower-value cards under $50.

What is the Buyer Protection fee?

Buyers now pay a 3.6% protection fee on top of the listed price (replaced the old seller-side processing fee in January 2025). Means listed prices appear lower vs eBay where shipping/tax are baked in differently — affects price perception.

Does Mercari charge for failed payouts?

Yes. If your direct deposit fails (closed account, wrong routing number), Mercari charges a $2 penalty. Verify bank info before requesting payout.
